Mayfly Lough Corrib
May 14th to 18
th 2009

ONLY £375 Booking Deadline 7th April

Where else on earth would you rather be than adrift on the greatest wild brown trout waters in Europe at Mayfly time.
Anglers from all over the world come to fish 'The Corrib' at this time of year.
All the villages around the lough are taken over with anglers, and at evening all the bars are full with anglers telling tales which are told over the rim of a creamy pint glass.
Mayfly time is can be majical and a memorable experience. The beginning of May sees the first of the flies coming off and by the middle of the month it is in full swing, sport can even last well into June.
We will be staying in the village of Cong which is famous for the making of the film 'The Quiet Man'.

10' #7/8 rod is all you need. However, lough-style fishing is generally short-lining so you would benefit from a lighter line. I use a 10' #6.
Floating line is all you'll need, although Ghost tip or intermediate will give you more control in a big wind.
Leader material 5-8lb, standard mono for pulling wets and florocarbon for fishing nymphs and dries.
Boyancy aid.
