Me

I first
picked up a fly rod at the age of 12, and caught 3 rainbows on
my first visit at Eglwys Nunydd Reservoir, South Wales. Since
that day I haven’t looked back. In the early days my passion
was so strong that I would walk a total of 12 miles over the
Rhigos Mountain to fish Llyn Fawr, this I would do regularly 3
to 4 days a week.
Over the
years I have had great success on the competition scene
representing Wales at International level and gained titles
such as Welsh Trials Champion, Benson & Hedges Welsh
Champion plus many more. Nowadays apart from the occasional
competition I prefer to spend my free time drifting on an
Irish Lough and the only competition is between me, and the
wild brownies.
In recent
seasons I have had a passion for the Ferox in Lough Corrib,
and this to me is the ultimate challenge with my biggest to
date being a touch under 15lb.
Since
leaving school I have made my living as a professional press
photographer, working for local and national newspapers. I
have been extremely fortunate to have been able to mix work
with pleasure and have been a freelance contributor to both
‘Trout & Salmon’ and ‘Troutfisherman’ magazines
for over 15 years. I have fished many countries including
Finland, Iceland and Sweden on many occasions but it is the
West and South West of Ireland is where I prefer to be.
